We are the Northside Church of Christ. We are a community of believers seeking authentic relationships with Christ and one another. We worship, fellowship, study, and serve to develop greater intimacy with our Creator and his creation. We welcome all to worship, study, and praise God with us.
HOW WE WORSHIP
- We confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
- We celebrate the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper.
- We give praise through singing, prayer, and fellowship.
- We practice giving and sharing through a weekly offering to support the work of the church.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
- We are all sinners who are saved by grace through faith in Jesus, as we yield our lives in obedience to God.
- A Christian is an immersed (baptized) believer who seeks to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength; to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and is devoted to others in a unified spirit and purpose.
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
- Each member is encouraged to study the Bible individually and with others, so they may be able to discern God's will for their lives.
- All Christians are called to worship, prayer, giving, communion, Bible study, fellowship, and ministry to others.

- Jesus atoned for our sins on the cross. He died on the cross, was raised, and will never die again.
- The Holy Spirit, sent from the Father and Son, is our helper and guide for our Christian life.

OUR HISTORY
Northside Church of Christ was founded April 17, 1983. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2008. With its early beginnings as a campus ministry, Larry Sharp served as Campus Minister and Evangelist. Other staff members over the years have been: Craig and Loretta Morgan, Doug and Charlene Hurley, serving as campus ministers; Gary Gawlik, Mark Moore, and Jarrod Longbons serving as youth ministers. The original congregation of 61 met at 98 West Mulberry St. near Illinois State University. The congregation outgrew its small building and began meeting at various auditoriums on the ISU campus through the 80’s and early 90’s. Our current facility was completed in 1996.
